How Tolivi Keeps Your Events Safe

How Tolivi Keeps Your Events Safe

Meeting people you found through an app is a strange kind of trust exercise. You don’t know them yet, but you’re about to show up to the same place they are. That’s the exact moment Tolivi is designed around - not as an afterthought, but as the actual architecture of how the app works.

Nobody shows up uninvited

Every event on Tolivi works the same way: you don’t just show up, you ask to join. The host sees your request, sees your profile, and decides. Nothing about the exact location or start time is shared until they’ve accepted you. If a request feels off, the host simply doesn’t accept it - no explanation owed, no confrontation needed.

Guests never message each other - only the host

This is the part people are usually surprised by: on Tolivi, guests at the same event cannot see or message one another. Chat only ever flows one way - between you and the host. If eight people ask to join your picnic, you get eight private conversations, not one group chat where everyone can see everyone’s number and name. It’s a small architectural choice with a big effect: your event doesn’t become a shared contact list.

Once the event is over, those conversations don’t linger either - messages clear automatically seven days after the event ends. There’s no long tail of old chats sitting on your phone from people you met once.

Block and report, always one tap away

If someone makes you uncomfortable - before, during, or after an event - you can block and report them directly from their profile or your chat. Blocking is immediate and mutual: once you block someone, neither of you can find, message, or request to join each other’s events again.

You’re always 18+ in the room

Every Tolivi account is 18 and up, and hosts can set a minimum age on their own events for an extra layer of comfort - useful for anything from a quiet book club to a late-night rooftop hang.

The short version

  • Ask-to-join, not show-up: hosts approve every guest before details are shared.
  • Private by design: guests only ever talk to the host, never to each other.
  • Self-clearing chats: conversations disappear a week after the event ends.
  • Block & report: always available, always immediate.
  • 18+, with host-set minimums: for events that call for it.

None of this is a feature you have to turn on. It’s just how joining and hosting on Tolivi works - because the best way to feel good about meeting new people is knowing the app was actually built with that in mind.
